The first show Delighters ever performed was a fire theatre performance with a crew of 5 international performers in 2004 at Sziget Festival in Hungary. It was called “The dinner party“. It was a mixed art-form show with dance, theatre, shadow theatre, stilts, contact improvisation, acrobalance and fire with coloured flames, set at a very formal romantic dinner for two where all the dishes were on fire, while on the shadow screen the couple’s subconscious played out in acrobatics.
The show was directed by Jusztina Hermann and as it was a great success. She is one of the pioneers of this new artform, and the company grew to create more bespoke work of Fire Theatre around the world.
